PORTO FLAVIA & IGLESIAS
Take an unforgettable trip on the west coast of Sardinia – Sulcis subregion, discovering its most picturesque corners. On the route to Porto Flavi there is a town Nebidafrom where there is a breathtaking view.
Porto Flavia – an unusual port hollowed out in the rock, formerly used for loading zinc and lead ores and Mr. di Zucchero – majestic limestone rock growing out of the sea. Iglesias is a charming town with a rich mining history and a beautiful medieval old town.

BREATHTAKING VIEWS
The trip will start in Cagliari, from where we will go to the Belvedere panoramic terrace in Nebida, admire the view of the coast, La Marmora laverie and the famous Pan di Zucchero rock.
Then we will go to Porto Flavia, where we will visit the famous transhipment gallery with a guide.
We will also go to the beautiful beach of Cala Domestica and to the town of Buggerru, and finally we will visit the atmospheric town of Iglesias, where a guided walk will take place.

START HOUR AND PLACE:

1. Start of a trip in Cagliari
– Departure from Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, starting a bus trip towards the southwest of the island.
2. Transfer to Nebida (Sulcis subregion – Iglesiente)
– We are heading southwest of the island, to the town of Nebida, in the Sulcis region – Iglesiente, which was once famous for the extraction of minerals. Today, former mines have changed the landscape of this region, giving it a unique character.
3. Stopping on the Belvedere panoramic terrace in Nebida
– We will stop on the Belvedere terrace, where we will be able to admire the beautiful view of the coast, La Marmora laverie and the famous Pan di Zucchero rock.
– Time to take pictures and admire the amazing landscape.
4. Transfer to Porto Flavia
– We are moving towards Porto Flavia, a famous transhipment gallery that was once used to transport minerals mined in the area.
5. Guided tour of Porto Flavia
– Visiting the Porto Flavia transhipment gallery with a guide that will bring us closer to the history of this place and interesting facts related to this region, which is still not fully discovered by tourists.
– We will learn about the functioning of the former mining infrastructure and its impact on the development of the region.
6. Time to take souvenir photos at Porto Flavia
– After about an hour of sightseeing, we will have a moment to take pictures and continue admiring the surrounding views.
7. Transfer to Buggerru
– After visiting Porto Flavia, we will go towards the town of Buggerru, which is one of the most important tourist points of the region.
8. Visit to the beach of Cala Domestica
– We will stop at the famous Cala Domestica beach, known for its beautiful scenery. We will have a moment to relax, relax on the beach and the opportunity to swim in the sea.
9. Transfer to Iglesias
– After visiting the beach, we head to the atmospheric town of Iglesias, which has retained its traditional Italian character.
10. Walk around Iglesias with a guide
– We will take a short walk around the town with a guide who will tell about the history of Iglesias and its most important monuments, such as churches, narrow streets and buildings from the Middle Ages.
11. Free time in Iglesias
– After the walk you will have free time for shopping, eating ice cream, trying local delicacies or just resting in cafes and restaurants.
12. Return to Cagliari
– After the free time in Iglesias, we will go back to Cagliari.
– Expected return to Cagliari in the late afternoon.
