1. Departure towards Barumini
We will start the journey by air-conditioned van or bus towards Barumini, a picturesque town in southern Sardinia. The guide will tell you about the history of the island and introduce – one of the most mysterious cultures of the Mediterranean basin into the subject of Nuragian civilization.
2. Visiting the Su Nuraxi nuragic complex
After reaching the Su Nuraxi complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will start visiting this unique archaeological site. It consists of a central defensive tower and surrounding buildings that formed the entire estate. It is the largest and best preserved dive in Sardinia, whose history dates back to the 15th century BC.
During a 45-minute walk with the guide, we’ll find out what the life of the Bronze Age people looked like, what the purpose of the mysterious stone structures was, and what treasures were discovered during archaeological works.
3. Transfer to Sanluri – wine village and tradition
After sightseeing, we will go to Sanluri, a charming town known for its long wine tradition. During the trip, the guide will talk about the importance of wine in the culture of Sardinia and about indigenous vine varieties from which world-renowned drinks are produced.
4. Visiting a local vineyard
We will visit a family vineyard, where traditional wine production methods have been cultivated for generations. We will learn the entire production process – from viticulture, through harvesting, to fermentation and maturation in oak barrels.
5. Wine tasting and local delicacies
After visiting the vineyard, we will be tasting Sardinian wines, served in the company of regional delicacies. We will taste local cheeses, aromatic meats and traditional carasau bread, discovering the authentic flavors of the island.
6. Possibility to buy local wines
At the end of your visit to the vineyard, you will be able to buy selected wines to take some of this unique journey with you and share its taste with your loved ones.
7. Return to the meeting point
After a day full of discoveries and unforgettable taste sensations, we will return to the meeting point, richer with knowledge about the history of Sardinia, its culture and wine traditions.
